It’s not often that our team at The360Suite does a photoshoot out of NYC, but the prospect of creating a 360 Virtual Tour of The Boston City Winery was exciting enough. Considering the prospect of creating additional Virtual Tours for the City Winery Brand and its other 10 locations, this was a great opportunity to deliver a first-class Virtual Tour of the entire space.
With Boston just a 4-hour bus ride from Manhattan, I boarded the bus at 6 am with an arrival time of approximately 11 am. I decided the best way to be mobile and save a few Uber rides was to bring my bicycle on the bus. Even though the MegaBus said no bikes were allowed, I took the chance, and there was no problem as I loaded my bike into the luggage compartment. I was on my way with my bike, camera, tripod, and miscellaneous flashlights in case I had to light up any dark spots in the rooms for the photos.
Upon arriving at the Boston Bus station, I unfolded my bike, turned on my GPS, and proceeded to the Boston City Winery. It turned out that it was a quick 20-minute bike ride, and I got to see the sights of the Boston Harbor. I picked a day when City Winery was not open for lunch, so I had the entire afternoon to do the photoshoot.
The space at Boston City Winery is spectacular. It consists of 2 levels with several private dining rooms, the barrel room where the wine is stored, an art gallery, a concert hall and dining room, a private VIP concert viewing room, and backstage with another private dressing room that doubles as an artist green room and dressing room. The room also has a full bathroom, so when private parties and weddings so, the bride has a full bathroom and shower to prepare. The Boston City Winery has it all, from dining, private dining, a full concert/music room with a restaurant, and fantastic wine with the City Winery Brand of wines made right there on site.
When we take a 360 panoramic photos of a restaurant, we prefer to take the 360 images when there is no one there. The restaurant is staged with tables set, soft lighting, and everything in place. All 360 panoramic photos are taken in a sequence so the Virtual Tour can be created as a walking tour as if you walk about the entire restaurant and experience the ambiance, settings, and amenities that the restaurant has to offer. Since we use Google Maps technology, we bring Google Maps indoors to create an interactive, immersive experience. Take a look of the Boston City Winery Virtual Tour for yourself!
